Aerogen syringe-a specific, non-sterile, color-coded (typically blue) syringe - Portable Nebulizer Story

aerogen syringe-a specific

The Aerogen syringe is a specific, non-sterile, color-coded (typically blue) syringe designed as an accessory for the Aerogen Solo nebulizer system to deliver medications for continuous inhalation. It is designed to work with standard syringe pumps for precise, drop-by-drop delivery of medication.

Key Features and Use

The Aerogen Solo Continuous Nebulization Syringe is part of a closed-circuit system to safely deliver aerosolized medications in a hospital setting.

· Continuous Nebulization: It is specifically designed for the administration of continuous, rather than intermittent, inhaled medications.

· Safety Features: The syringe and its accompanying tubing are color-coded blue and use non-standard connectors to help prevent accidental intravenous (IV) administration of inhaled medications.

· Compatibility: It is designed to work with most standard syringe pumps.

· Single Patient Use: The syringe is a single-use, disposable item, qualified for use for a maximum of 7 days with the same type of medication as part of the Aerogen Continuous Nebulisation Tube Set (CNTS).

· Medication Compatibility: It can be used to nebulize physician-prescribed solutions, suspensions, proteins, and peptides that are approved for use with a general-purpose nebulizer.
