- Ipratropium Bromide (0.5 mg): An anticholinergic that prevents the muscles around the airways from tightening.
- Salbutamol / Albuterol (2.5 mg): A short-acting beta-agonist that relaxes the muscles in the lungs for rapid relief.
(Note: In some regions, a variant called Ipramol Respules may use Levosalbutamol instead of Salbutamol).
- Form: A liquid solution provided in single-dose plastic ampoules (Steri-Nebs or Respules).
- Method: The entire content of one vial is squeezed into the nebulizer chamber. You inhale the mist through a mouthpiece or mask, usually for 5 to 15 minutes.
- Dosage: Typically prescribed 3 to 4 times daily for adults and adolescents over 12. Use exactly as directed by your healthcare provider.
- Common Effects: Headache, throat irritation, dry mouth, cough, and dizziness.
- Eye Protection: It is critical to keep the mist out of your eyes, as it can cause eye pain or worsen glaucoma.
- Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart problems (like tachyarrhythmia), prostate issues, or difficulty urinating.
